The Good Governance and Shareholding Forum, created by ATREVIA, communications consultant and the IESE Business School, recognized Iberdrola as the “Best Approach Initiative to Shareholders of companies listed in Spain” for the project “Shareholders Club”.
The jury from the 3rd edition of the Good Governance and Shareholding Forum Awards valued the strength of the company and its commitment to transparency that with the initiative is dedicated to direct contact with the shareholder to be closer to them.
With the presented project, Iberdrola claims that communication is constant and bidirectional. Due to this the “Shareholders Club” was developed that has small shareholders as main beneficiaries.
Other initiatives include those for the General Meeting held under the Shareholder Day, therefore facilitating that attendees are able to contact directly and informally with different managers. In addition, the company will launch telematic meetings across their interactive online shareholders (OLA) platform and organize events for the exchange of options and debate questions related with Corporate Governance and social responsibility of the company.
The jury of the Good Governance and Shareholding Forum is composed of members of the Advisory Board: Ángel Boixadós, ex president of the Association of Financial Journalists (APIE); Belén Romana, ex general manager at Tesoro; Claudio Boada, president in the Honor Circle of Business people; Eduardo Montes, president in the Advisory Club; Mónica de Oriol, ex president of the Circle of Business people; Emilio Zurutuza, president in the Advisory Club; Salvador Montejo, president of Emisores Españoles; Juan Prieto, vice-president of Emisores Españoles; Enrique Morera, lecturer at the IESE Business School; Soledad Núñez, Ex General Manager at Tesoro; José Ramón Pin, Manager of IRCO and lecturer in the area of people at the IESE Business School; and Núria Vilanova, president and founder at ATREVIA.
The Good Governance and Shareholding Forum is a joint initiative with the IRCO, research centre of the IESE Business School, and the communications consultant ATREVIA which was created as a space of debate for to generate and divulge knowledge in the financial area. Their main objective is to analyze the specific problem of communication between small shareholders and listed companies.
