Asun Soriano, CEO of ATREVIA, participated in the seminar Undertaking, Communicating and Leading in Family Businesses which was organized by the Association for the Advancement of Management (APD) in collaboration with the Family Business Association in Andalucía (AAEF).
The seminar which was celebrated in Seville revolved around the strategic importance of communication and values within family businesses. Around this idea, Asun Soriano especially emphasized “the objective of family businesses is to preserve time, which is essential for the diffusion of family values from one generation to another”.
Asun Soriano was accompanied by Manuel Bermejo, director general of Executive Education in the IE Business School and president of The Family Advisory Board. He was right to state that “there is no other company as powerful as a family company who manages its uniqueness well. To make family businesses strong, entrepreneurial leaders are needed to manage change and assure its future”. It is a key element and one of the biggest challenges that family businesses face recently.
In conclusion, during the seminar Undertaking, Communicating and Leading in Family Businesses, it has become clear that family businesses need, more than others, to convey their values to the following generations to be successful and maintain their project over the years. Various experts and people knowledgeable in the area of family businesses attended the seminar such as Mario Carranza, director of the Family Business Association in Andalucía, and Felipe Medina, director of the Association for the Advancement of Management in the south.
