La República is one of the most important economic and financial newspapers in Colombia who published a report from Núria Vilanova called “The eyes of the world, in la Paz” which shared her reflections on the opening of the peace process in Colombia and the horizon of opportunities for the country which this will bring with it.
“In Spain, we have offered these days for la Paz in Colombia. Precisely, the director of La República, Fernando Quijano, found a program in our country that is being developed by Ceal Ibérico in collaboration with Segib to encourage visits by leading media directors to Latin America. The recent photo from La Habana showed President Santos and the chief executive of the FARC signing a ceasefire and opening the expectation to end the longest conflict in Latin America, which staged a giant step towards hope.
The eyes of the world are today positioned on Colombia and their peace process, with the commitment and desire to make things happen. Spain in particular like the rest of Europe is shaken by Brexit, the United States, large institutions… everyone is looking at Colombia as a success model in a world subjected to big changes.
This year celebrates the 25th anniversary of the creation of Segib which at the hand of Don Enrique V. Iglesias worked for the creation of a Latin American spirit with collaboration between countries and the search for opportunities for joint improvement. Additionally this October, Cartagena will hold a summit with the heads of state from different Latin America countries (the first that will be held on a two year basis) under the leadership of Rebeca Grynspan. This is the year for Colombia. We are all waiting”.
