The last 8th of March celebrated International Women´s Day which is a key date to claim space for equality and feminine leadership in all sectors in society.
On this notable day, the television program “EL gato al agua”, in the Intereconomía channel, devoted time to discuss the place that currently occupied by female profiles in business, social and cultural spaces in our country.
In relation to this topic, the program put ATREVIA as a business example that promotes female leadership in their management team. Núria Vilanova, founder and president of the company, was interviewed to share with the viewers the key features of their model: “In ATREVIA we believe and defend the importance of diversity. We want to increase the number of men in our management team to preach with the example of equality”.
In front of the question, if there are any surprises in the business environment due to the high percentage of women that make up the ATREVIA´s team, Núria Vilanova affirmed “clients value effectiveness and commitment which are values that we have always fought to achieve. The commitment to our clients is the most important thing for us and this is what truly we believe”.
Unfortunately, there is still a lot to do. Núria Vilanova stressed in “El gato al agua”, the facts that have been extracted from the 4th report on Women in the Board of Directors from the Ibex 35 companies, elaborated by ATREVIA and the business school IESE, reflect a pressing reality in terms of equality: the presence of women in the Ibex boards of directors have grown to reach a percentage of 19.83%, but Spain still finds itself behind the European average of (21.2%).
In this sense, Núria Vilanova wanted to highlight “the hard truth resides in making the number of women directors grow in companies that haven’t incorporated this business culture and diversity is essential in the business world. We have not had additional barriers in our struggle in the marketplace, which should always be so”.
Finally, before the question of which has been ATREVIA´s key success factors to be a reference in the sector, she pointed out “One must manage across values and sharing the project with all the team. In ATREVIA, the obsession to innovate and do things well has allowed us to continue to grow”.
