The president and founder of ATREVIA, Núria Vilanova, attended the last day of STEM Talent Girl, a project whose mission is to inspire, educate and empower the next generation of women leaders in science and technology. The event was held on December 16 in Santander, Spain.
During her presentation, addressed to about thirty high school students selected for the Science For Her program. Ms. Vilanova highlighted how science, mathematics and technology are going to dictate the way of the future and the importance of having more women at the forefront of this revolution, “If technology and globalization are transforming everything, why can’t the role of women in the world change at the same time?”, she attested.
Furthermore, Ms. Vilanova has referred to the, STEM Talent Girl, girls, as members of the Generation Z, a generation that stands out for the four I’s: internet, irreverence, immediacy and indecision. They are hyper connected young people, demanding and empowered thanks to the Internet, and here to change the world as we know it.
According to MS. Vilanova, in their hands is the last measure in consolidating and advancing the role of women in society and has called on them to embrace and lead this change. “You have a great responsibility because your success will be the success of women around the world,” she concluded.
