ATREVIA director, Isabel Mira, moderated the first table of the congress, CommunicationToday, where we learn about the success stories of Grupo Celsa, Pepsico and Barcelona Activa when it comes to managing the motivation and experience of employees.
Pere Oteo, Corporate Human Resources Director of Grupo Celsa explained how, “in the face of a changing world we try to communicate the possibilities of growth and learning throughout life including new challenges”.
“Younger people value mobility and freedom to work. It is more important than ever to humanize our relationship with employees, help them in that process and be present at the necessary times”, explained Belén Moreu, Human Resources Senior Director South West Europe of PepsiCo.
For his part, Pep Marqués, Corporate Director of People, Organizational Development and CSR of Barcelona Activa (Barcelona City Council), has ensured that “organizations are also agents of social change. Being proud of a company committed to the Sustainable Development Goals is essential to ensure the motivation of employees”
Gerardo Sama, Technology Vice-president at ATREVIA, continued his presentation on the digitization of the employee journey and the importance of having digital platforms that “humanize” and create community.
Moreover, Sergi Saborit, section manager of Expasión-PDD, moderated the table with Javier Urbiola, Executive Chairman of ISS Iberia, and Javier Ellena, former president of Lilly (Spain, Portugal and Greece) and senior partner ATREVIA, on new capabilities and leadership model.
Both have agreed that leadership is now different and needs more than ever to boost internal talent. Javier Ellena has stressed the importance of betting on diversity “no longer only of gender, race, nationality… but of thought”. Javier Urbiola, has spoken about ISS Iberia: “We put the employee in the center, and as a result things have changed a lot. We choose the employee not by technical competences but by attitude and purpose, it is a paradigm shift in the organization itself.”
