The Spanish venture capital industry celebrated 30 years in 2016 and it does so in good health: 9% more investment operations carried out in 2015, up to a total of 632, according to the provisional figures that Ascri has just published.
In these three decades as a sector they have invested close to €45,000 million in more than 6,500 companies, of all sizes and sectors. Currently still in portfolio are 2,133 companies, of those 92% are small and medium sized, according to the official data from Ascri.
