Asun Soriano, CEO of ATREVIA, has participated as a jury of the Fundación Secretariado Gitano 2017 Awards that recognize the commitment and effort of people or entities that develop an outstanding work in the defense and support of the Roma community.
The external jury in charge of selecting the winners of this edition has been completed by Juan Manuel Solano, Human Resources Director, Southern Europe Division of the Gestamp engineering business group; Carmen García, President of the Tomillo Foundation, Francisco Ruiz, Director of Policies and Public Affairs of Google Spain and Portugal, David Peña “Dorantes“, composer and pianist of flamenco and jazz and Valentín Suárez, Secretary of the Board of Trustees of the Fundación Secretariado Gitano.
Finally, the Orange Foundation, the Ministry of Education of the Junta de Castilla y León, Canal Sur Radio and Television, the Intergroup against racism and in defense of diversity (ARDI) of the European Parliament, the teacher and founding member of Teachers with Gypsies Jesús Salinas Catalá and the politician, lawyer and gypsy journalist Juan de Dios Ramírez Heredia, have been the lucky ones who received the awards on February 26, in an event hold in the Manuel de Falla Hall of the General Society of Authors (SGAE), in Madrid.
The Fundación Secretariado Gitano Awards highlight the social, cultural or human work of people, work teams, entities or institutions of national or international scope related to the advancement in social inclusion and welfare of Roma people, responding to values and lines of work that the Fundación Secretariado Gitano promotes.
