ATREVIA joined the Target Gender Equality accelerator program organized by the United Nations Global Compact, which seeks to boost the presence of women on company board of directors and in executive management positions. This initiative, which was launched in 2019, already has over 800 organizations participating and is present in more than 50 countries.
Due to the program’s global and local success, Spain’s United Nations Global Compact has decided to open a new edition of the program, which ATREVIA has joined due to its aim to promote women’s equality and boost their presence in organizations’ head positions.
A total of 127 companies have already participated in all three editions of the program in Spain, thus making it one of the countries with the highest participation rate. In this regard, the executive director of the United Nations Global Compact Spain, Cristina Sánchez, stated that “The continual increase in participation from Spanish companies in the program not only highlights our role as a leading initiative in corporate sustainability in Spain but also reaffirms the commitment of our business sector to equitable gender representation in companies. Also, this places us ever closer to the goal of achieving a fair and equal world, aligned with the values of the 2030 Agenda“.
The program will help member companies to set and achieve ambitious goals in terms of women’s representation and leadership across all organizational levels through performance analysis. Participants will also benefit from capacity-building workshops, peer-to-peer learning, and multi-stakeholder dialogues at a national and international level.
