The Business Council Alliance for Ibero-America (CEAPI) – an association formed by 140 leaders of companies committed to the region and chaired by the president and founder of ATREVIA, Núria Vilanova-, has concluded its 3rd Congress of presidents of companies and family business.
It should be noted that CEAPI’s Spanish partners account for 12% of Spanish GDP, with a combined turnover of 125 billion euros and 5% of private employment, with more than 600,000 employees.
Throughout the congress, there’s been multiple calls to address new business challenges, ranging from globalization, technological disruption, management of talent and sustainability. For Núria Vilanova, “companies have to go one step further and get involved in the progress of the communities in which they operate. We no longer have to be the best companies in the world, but the best companies for the world. We cannot be oblivious to the problems of a more informed society, more than ever before, that demands transparency and accountability”
Moreover, Mrs. Vilanova asked large companies in Latin America, some whom have participated in the past as guest at the event, to join this exciting project. “CEAPI open its doors to the large companies of Latin America” by highlighting that, “I would like to point out that one of the main reasons to be part of CEAPI is to provide the great executives of Latin America the recognition and place that they deserve in Spain. Which in difficult times for Spain welcomed their immigrants and later on their companies in their process of internationalization and whom to this day are our partners and investors”
The closing day of the III Ibero-American Congress CEAPI was attended by Antonio Garamendi, president of the CEOE, José Luis Bonet, president of the Spanish Chamber of Commerce, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, President of the Community of Madrid and the Minister of Economy, Manuel Giménez Rasero.
This third edition of the Ibero-American Congress has had the presence of 550 participants, of which 300 have come from Latin America, the top entrepreneurs from each country, and with more than 20 of the wealthiest fortunes of the region, according to Forbes.
