ATREVIA APPOINTS YOLANDA ROMÁN AS GLOBAL MANAGING DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC AFFAIRS

ATREVIA, a global Communication and Corporate Affairs company, announces the signing of Yolanda Román as Global Managing Director of its Public Affairs area. With this new global position, the company reinforces the Public Affairs practice with a strong strategic focus and in-depth knowledge of the corporate environment and the social agenda.

Román will lead the Public Affairs division and will work in coordination with Manuel Mostaza, who will continue as director of Madrid, Portugal and Brussels; Ramón González, head of the Brussels office; with Álex Bonet and Sònia Recasens in Barcelona, and with Daniel Albino in Portugal. In LATAM, he will work side by side with the VPs of the region: Carmen Sánchez, Pedro Casado and Miguel Ángel López, as well as with the directors and senior PPAA specialists of the territory, among whom Álvaro Marchante and Héctor Aronez stand out.

With a degree in Law from the University of Deusto and a master’s degree in European Union Law, Yolanda Román has extensive experience in Public Affairs management and political advocacy. For the last three years, he has been responsible for public policy and institutional relations for Amazon in Spain. Previously, he held similar roles at Uber and Naturgy. In his early career, he worked for large international NGOs and currently continues to collaborate with the non-profit sector and with social initiatives.

Now, Román returns to ATREVIA, where she served as director of PPAA between 2013 and 2017, with a wealth of knowledge and experience in the reputational, cultural and regulatory challenges that companies face today, both locally and globally. From this new responsibility, he will work with all the teams of ATREVIA to give a new impetus to a consolidated area of the company that has not stopped growing and innovating.

In an increasingly complex political context, ATREVIA intends to expand its service proposal with more strategic and methodological approaches that respond to the demanding and complex needs of companies in their interaction with institutional ecosystems and political agendas. To this end, it also has the fundamental support of its solid network of senior partners, including personalities of the stature of Germán Ríos, Juan Luis Cebrián, Belén Romana, Joan Clos, Javier Vega de Seoane, Custodia Cabanas, Juan Miguel Sucunza and Alberto Andreu.

In his own words: “The world has changed radically in less than a decade and it is becoming increasingly difficult to influence and make an impact out there. I return home convinced that I have a lot to contribute. Working with a great interdisciplinary team full of talent will allow us to put at the service of clients a lot of useful knowledge and a strategic vision based on the understanding of the rapid political, technological and social changes that condition the ability of companies and public administrations to operate.”

For her part, Asunción Soriano, CEO of ATREVIA Spain and Vice President of Consulting at ATREVIA, said: “It is great news to welcome Yolanda back to the company. His innovative vision and extensive experience in cutting-edge sectors and organizations will help us to continue consolidating ATREVIA’s position as a benchmark and disruptive consultancy, integrating disciplines and tools such as communication, social mobilization or the exhaustive monitoring of social trends through advanced social listening into our Public Affairs services.

In times of change and “polycrisis”, the challenges and opportunities of organizations are complex and interconnected. For this reason, strategic analysis and advice or action and advocacy plans must be approached with a multidisciplinary talent approach if we want to add value in real capacity to impact the strategic objectives of organizations.”
