The father of Atapuerca, the Prince of Asturias Awards and professor of Paleontology at the Complutense University of Madrid, Juan Luis Arsuaga, will be one of the main speakers in the next Drawing ED Conference. It is an innovative and ambitious event addressed to Primary, Secondary and Professional Training students. The conference, organized by Fundación Créate, will take place on the 17th and 18th of June in the headquarters of the Institución Libre de Enseñanza in Madrid.
ATREVIA will collaborate in this event that will address one of the most significant challenges in education in the digital era: how to awaken and maintain the enthusiasm to learn. The meeting will show the creative potential of children and youth centers in the Community of Madrid, in addition to debate on education. It is about teaching drawing from two perspectives in its own right, but instead it’s becomes complementary: Expo and Conference.
Throughout the two conferences, Arsuaga, will be supported by the German neuroscientist Manfred Spitzer, Mónica R. Martínez, Education adviser for the president of the United States, Barack Obama and the Spanish neuroscientist Francisco Mora.
The official opening of Drawing ED will take place on Friday the 17th of June with the presentation of a venture project carried out by Primary, Secondary and Professional Training students.
The main part of the conference will be on Saturday the 18th of June with various speakers and workshops with experts and scientists to discuss the impact of technology, how the brain works and how we learn. Prominent personalities will speak from all over the world from the areas of education, neuroscience, innovation, etc. For example, the paleontologist Juan Luis Arsuaga will enlighten the attendees about The man, his essence and evolution.
Some other topics that will be put on the table are the relationships between the brain, emotion and education, as well as the role of neuroscience and the school of life. To follow the speakers on Saturday, a simultaneous translation service will be available.
