ATREVIA reorganizes its management team in Latin America to boost growth and strategic focus in the region

ATREVIA, a global company specializing in communication and corporate affairs, launched an ambitious strategic plan a few months ago, which plans to shape the company’s expansion route through the year 2028. This plan involves high-level organizational changes such as the appointment of Asunción Soriano, president of ATREVIA Spain, as the Global CEO of the company to work alongside the Executive President and Founder of the company, Núria Vilanova, in its implementation.

Present in 15 territories, ATREVIA has decisively bet on Latin America, where the Spanish multinational has offices in 12 countries – Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Mexico, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, the Dominican Republic, and Uruguay. In LATAM, there are significant challenges and major projects to be tackled, in which Carmen Sánchez-Laulhé, Vice President of ATREVIA for the Andean Region and Brazil who recently assumed the Presidency and General Management in Mexico, will play a prominent role. Miguel Ángel López, Vice President of the southern cone, will continue to lead key countries such as Peru, Argentina, Chile, Paraguay, and Uruguay. Both executives, as representatives of the region, are to join the Global Management Committee, the highest governance body of the consultancy.

ATREVIA’s strategic plan also reinforces their regional weight with two innovation and knowledge development hubs: a Corporate Affairs Hub led by Carmen Sánchez-Laulhé, and a Strategic Creativity Hub led by Miguel Ángel López. Additionally, two new specialized units will be created: Digital Transformation and Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Chile, and the regional practice of Culture, People Management, and Internal Communication, located in ATREVIA Mexico.

Accelerating growth in LATAM

ATREVIA has 600 employees worldwide. It has become a reference in communication, public affairs, strategic positioning, and marketing, by helping its clients in environments of opportunity and complexity. This ranges from listening and deep knowledge of geopolitical and social environments and trends to design the best strategies, to creativity in messages and formats and, of course, technology and digitalization as facilitators of segmentation and impact.

In 2023, ATREVIA received the prestigious Stevie Award, recognizing it as the Public Relations Agency of the Year in Mexico, the Caribbean, and Central and South America, a region where it has maintained a presence for over 10 years.

The Spanish multinational plans to acquire at least 5 new companies this year, 3 of them in Latin America. It seeks companies that either complement its knowledge and/or help improve its presence in certain regions. So far, it has closed two operations in LATAM: the acquisition of Apple Tree in Colombia, to continue its commitment to offer increasingly integrated solutions to clients in strategic consulting, and the agency Nueva Comunicación in Uruguay, who specialize in corporate communication and public affairs.

On a global level, the company closed the past 2023 year with a turnover of 43.8 million euros, 25.1% more than the previous year, which generated 35 million. It ended the year with an EBIT of 4.08 million euros. The turnover in Latin America was 7.2 million euros. Forecasts for 2024 estimate that the company’s turnover will exceed 50 million euros, with forecasts for LATAM being 10 million euros.

The Spanish multinational also has a strong connection with civil society and the business world of the region, being involved and actively participating in guilds, organizations, think tanks, and associations in almost every country in the region. Last year, ATREVIA’s activism led to the certification of all its global offices to integrate into the BCorp community, surpassing a rigorous evaluation process. Another milestone was the Silver Medal, awarded to ATREVIA by Ecovadis, the largest provider of international sustainability certifications.

ATREVIA’s relationship with LATAM is twofold, as Núria Vilanova leads the Business Council Alliance for Ibero-America/ Consejo Empresarial Alianza por Iberoamérica (CEAPI). CEAPI is a non-political private entity formed by nearly 300 presidents of the largest Ibero-American companies, who are committed to strengthening the network of relationships, alliances, and the business space, and whose mission is to value the role of the entrepreneur and their impact on society, promoting social commitment and sustainability. Standing out among the activities developed by CEAPI, is the organization of one of the largest business meetings in the region, The Ibero-American Business Congress. This event brings together the presidents of companies and business families, and the top decision-makers of the Ibero-American economy. The VII Ibero-American Business Congress will take place in Cartagena de Indias (Colombia), from June 17 to 19, 2024.
