The company founded and managed by Núria Vilanova was always sure: “women are essential”. So since its foundation, ATREVIA (that was Inforpress before) in 1988, has worked for equal opportunities for men and women.
One of the initiatives that is achieving more results in this area is Foro de Buen Gobierno (Forum of Good Governance), which for over 3 years published, together with IESE, the report “Las Mujeres en los Consejos de Administración de las compañías del Ibex 35”, a study that promotes the inclusion of women in board of directors in listed companies.
Since its first edition in 2013, the report has shown how the presence of women increased in the board of directors of companies listed in the Ibex 35. According to the report, the number of jobs in the boards of listed companies occupied by women is of 80, two more than last year. Now women represent 17.32%. It is an important number considering that in 2006 women only represented 5% of managing positions in Ibex listed companies.
However, “there is still much to do”, states the president. “There are still 3 of the 35 Ibex companies that do not have women in relevant positions, so at ATREVIA we will continue to develop projects, such as this one, to promote equality”.
