Another meeting of the Forum for Good Governance was held and this time presenting the lecture titled Key facts of leaving the Stock market: financial alternative for family businesses and medium companies.
This interesting debate revolved around the experiences of different family businesses when deciding to make the jump into the stock exchange, it held the participation of Ignasi Biosca, CEO of Reig Jofre; Carlos Buesa, CEO of Oryzon; as well as Eloi Planes, president of Fluidra. Moreover, the conversation was mediated by the co-presidents of the Forum for Good Governance: Núria Vilanova, founder and president of ATREVIA and José Ramón Pin, lecturer at the IESE Business School.
Ignasi Biosca, CEO of Reig Jofre, one of the industrial groups, leaders in the European pharmaceutical sector, told us about the process and what elements fundamentally result as being the same: “Once you make the jump, everything rolls on from there. Communication is essential in this process because it helps us to value the project more and to protect our values. There exists a great deal of cohesion, responsibility and commitment with the project: uniting families and shareholders”.
Carlos Buesa, CEO of Oryzon, world leader in epigenetic drugs, has always had a clear objective with their decision: “We do not see the exit from the stock exchange as an end in itself but as instead an instrument. We will first plant ourselves in the Spanish market and after we will sell in NASDAQ”.
Finally, Eloi Planes, president of the multinational group dedicated to the development of applications for the sustainable use of water Fluidra, pointed out: “We wanted to continue to provide value and the exit from the stock exchange increases our professionalization. This has been an arduous and interesting process and so that transparency and union have been essential”. Moreover, he added “before a market that fluctuates constantly, one should professionalize and work intensively on communication, there is no other secret. You have to communicate with your shareholders, press and investors… “.
The Forum for Good Governance and Shareholders is an initiative led by ATREVIA together with the IESE Business School that generated a diverse range of studies and reports that link good business governance whose objective is to divulge and improve good practices in this field. Currently, this Form was to use it as a meeting point for professionals in the economic, business and institutional world.
