ATREVIA, a global Communication and Corporate Affairs company, has recently reinforced its Crisis & Issues department, in line with its spirit of adaptation and transformation, by appointing Juan Delgado as the new head of this department. The objective is to develop a crisis prevention and management strategy with a multidisciplinary and multi-stakeholder approach supported by state-of-the-art digital tools.
The new head of Crisis & Issues at ATREVIA has a degree in Information Sciences from the University of Navarra. He has served as Director of Communications for the Guardia Civil and Head of Information Coordination in the Security area of the Ministry of the Interior (1996-2001), as well as Director of Communications for Atento Spain (2002-2004).
He has worked for ABC (1986-1996) and La Razón (2004-2020), where he held various roles, including serving as a correspondent in Navarra and Bilbao, editor of regional politics, employment, and the Sunday supplement. He also founded and was head of the ABC division in Castile and León, as well as coordinator of specials and branded content, and director of the weekly supplement TU ECONOMÍA (La Razón).
In addition to the significant multi-sectorial experience developed by ATREVIA over the past 30 years, Delgado’s incorporation adds a comprehensive approach with a more defined focus placed on all stakeholders and an emphasis on technology and cutting-edge digital applications to monitor and provide early warnings of crises. In addition to this, the company offers its own methodology that embraces a range of diverse approaches.
“We live in complex, unpredictable times, with a high level of virality and with large volumes of messages and fake news. This is a framework to which we must add a powerful disruption calling for more intense internal management,” explains Juan Delgado. “These scenarios -he adds- can lead to instances of reputational risk and business crisis for which companies must be prepared.
ATREVIA’s proposal also includes internal change management and trust recovery programs, identification and training of key spokespersons, and risk prevention by elaborating risk maps and implementing internal crisis management policies.
The company, led by Núria Vilanova, is backed by an intense three-decade track record of a senior team specialized in helping organizations in various economic sectors uphold their interests and business sustainability through a comprehensive multi-stakeholder approach.
“In a context of complexity, over-information, and acceleration, we need a senior and experienced team of intelligence, strategy, and tactics to address any crisis. We also need powerful technological tools for advanced social listening and expert analysts to anticipate risks, trends, and conflicts. Today, crisis management requires muscle and multidisciplinary knowledge of the dynamics of influence and opinion formation,” adds Asunción Soriano, CEO of ATREVIA.
