In the week that celebrated International Women´s Day, the Spanish Chamber of Commerce in Mexico met with two of the most representative female profiles in the Iberian American environment: Núria Vilanova, founder and president of ATREVIA and Ana Maria Olabuenaga, CEO and founder of Olabuenaga Chemistri.
The central topic which was debated and discussed by both speakers was leadership, an aspect that Núria Vilanova called imperfect: “a leader should be humble and know what is defined by its team, as well as being able to recognize and select people that complement whatever field”. She also added: “a leader should delegate and never abdicate” in relation to the security that this shows about where where they want to go and bring its employees.
Also Núria Vilanova highlighted two key values that should prevail in the business environment: humility and simplicity. Both are two essential elements at the time of managing a team and leading a project to success.
For her part, Ana Maria Olabuenaga highlighted the current gap in the area of equality that exists between men and women. In this sense, she explained: “even though there is still more to do in the field of economic and labor equality, the role of women in the labor and business world is stronger and more evident”. Furthermore, she wanted to share with the attendees the concept of invisible leadership, executed by the women in the economic life of any country and through which companies lead successful management strategies.
Definitely, these two successful women wanted to share their vision and experience in the leadership area. Both have agreed that the recipe of success is defined in one word: share.
