
The Spanish Marketing Association in collaboration with ATREVIA and Casa de América presented the news from the LATAM Internationalization Award, a debuting category this year for the Spanish National Marketing Awards.
Isabel Lara, vice-president of ATREVIA presented the three finalist candidates in this category: Acciona, Ibera and Smöoy, whose campaigns were selected for having a great local impact and differentiation in the market. In this sense, Isabel Lara stressed that “what enriched the Latam awards is having a jury from different countries like Peru, Mexico, Colombia and Spain which valued projects both focused on the Latin American market as well as projects at a global level”. In addition, the jury took into account aspects like creativity, innovation and originality of the cases, as well as the complexity of the project and competition in the market at the moment of launching the project.
The LATAM Internationalization category provided a new perspective to the National Marketing Awards this year. Víctor Conde, Director General of the Spanish Marketing Association explained that “in this edition, we wanted to focus on internationalization, it made sense to start with the region of top priority in this regard: Latin America.
It is a way of recognizing and escorting Spanish companies in their international marketing actions and secondly, acknowledging good marketing approaches that is done through the Spanish language throughout the entire region, by Spanish companies as well as local ones”. Isabel Lara was right to point out that “a category centered on LATAM was necessary for these awards, as it is one of the places with the greatest impact and opportunities for Spanish companies currently”.
Likewise, the presentation held the participation of Santiago Miralles, director general of Casa de América, who highlighted the impact of this type of awards to Latin America, “putting value into the job and good work of the sector in Latin America”.
Through the success of the LATAM Internationalization awards category, the Spanish Marketing Association is committed to this category for the 2017 edition and will expand the call of marketing activities in Latin America which is developed for Spanish and Latin American companies. The Jury of the National Marketing Awards held the support from professionals specialized in Latin American whose winners will be announced at the gala awards ceremony on the 26th of May in the Teatros del Canal in Madrid.
