In a new edition of Mirada Plural, it gives an overview of a forum that took place of women who are leaders in the scope of companies, communication and public administration. The forum had the pleasure of introducing strong leaders; Inma Riera, Director General of the Chamber of Commerce in Spain and Ana Plaza, secretary general of the Spanish Confederation of Company Organizations (CEOE). Both are a clear example of how women have fought and persevered to arrive at where we are now, managing two of the most important business and economical institutions in our country.
The meeting took place in Hotel Hesperia in Madrid, where the actual social juncture was debated, as well as what has been analyzed in the report and the presence of women in the business environment. The event was presented by Núria Vilanova, founder and president of ATREVIA, as well as the participation of Gloria Lomana, director of information at Antena 3.
Imna Riera and Ana Plaza have shared their experiences with the attendee’s where they demonstrated how they faced a number of obstacles at the beginning of their professional journey. Imna Riera stated that the main thing was “don´t get left behind, keep in mind what was learnt in previous jobs. Value the learning that the previous experienced professionals have contributed; have patience and respect the job, the other employees in the company or institution with which you are employed by the acknowledgement of your own evolution”. For Ana Plaza, the key areas of success were “patience and respect as a fundamental base for the things that happen in due course. For women, it is still necessary to value the ability to adapt and empathize with what is favorable at the time of facing professional changes”.
Both show in favor of emphasizing on strengthening actions that are favored in the work-life balance. This is the first step in the drive of women as a vehicle for change, as the company is like a society “it is necessary to break a plea of not stagnating and rising instead. “Working women should be a reference for new generations”, both concluded.
