Currently, the leader requires very specific skills for the successful management of their business project. Properly combining strategy and negotiation, negotiating with flexibility and intelligence, managing change and diversity or dealing with uncertainty are some of the skills that a leader should possess nowadays.
On this and other questions, Isabel Lara, vice-president of ATREVIA debated in the conference Strategy leaders. It was an executive meeting organized by the Association for the Advancement of Management in Oviedo. The event held the participation of reference managers like Daniel Carreño, president for Spain and Portugal of General Electric, and Jesús Alonso, president of the Daniel Alonso Group. Both took part in a round table, moderated by Isabel Lara which supported their views and experiences around current leadership.
Whatever type of leader, general director, chief executive or team leader, must know the reasons for their success and also to have an explanation for their failures. Information, observation and comparison are three verbs that they should know perfectly, only applying them to know what reasons can lead to the success of the competition and consequentially, also to know what type of decision should be taken to improve the positioning of the organization.
At the conference Leaders with strategy also included Pablo Junceda, president of the APD in Asturias who shared the table of debate with Daniel Carreño, Jesús Alonso and Isabel Lara.
