Young people from Generation Z (born between 1994 and 2009 are beginning to leave the classrooms and landing into the world of business), have the skills and knowledge that other generations do not possess. They are different from millennials because they do not worry about finding a permanent job but they instead worry about finding a job to suit their personality, having opportunities for professional growth and reaching their life goals. This new way of being and acting is already forcing companies to adjust their recruitment policies and human resource management.
For example, there are already companies that in order to fight against cybercrime, they resort to hiring hackers who are young people with the talent and precise skills necessary to combat cyber attacks. These are some of the surprising conclusions that the report Generation Z. The latest generational gap shows. It was developed by ATREVIA and Deusto Business School and was presented to communication media recently.
The study likewise highlights how the Young Z’s who are part of the first digital native generation, banish formal education to concentrate on more vocational learning projects. This new reality means that the education system, labor market and many values that are becoming obsolete need to be modified to adapt to this new labor strength.
“Society should be capable of adapting resources and systems to the new needs of these young people”, stated Núria Vilanova, founder and president of ATREVIA who was in charge of presenting the study together with Iñaki Ortega, director of the Deusto Business School Madrid.
