Núria Vilanova, founder and president of ATREVIA participated in iRedes, the Iberian American Congress on social media that congregated the most well-known professionals in the world of Online Communication, Journalism and Social Media environments.
Núria Vilanova exercises as a moderator in the round table titled From 2.0 companies to 2.0 governments: the time of democracy online in this can´t be missed event for experts in the sector. The panel heard opinions from Antoni Gutiérrez-Rubí, communication advisor and political consultant, and María José Canel, Lecturer of Political Communication in the Complutense University of Madrid. In this panel, three experts in communication have delved into the idea of how social media has changed the way of doing politics.
During the debate, María José Canel stressed how part of the public distrust has to do with the frustration with public managers, since “there is a big distance between the real management of officials and what the public perceives”. This is due to the fact that “networks are able to support better the knowledge of needs and expectations of the public, as well as allowing the improved segmentation of messages”, she added.
Antoni Gutiérrez-Rubí signaled that “the digital conversation has been converted into a reference for any political event: debates that they make inside and outside of any stage because audiovisual world marks the digital conversation”.
The 6th edition of iRedes was celebrated in Burgos and held the participation of journalists Arturo Pérez Reverte, Manuel Jabois and Juan Gómez-Jurado, as well as the creative publicist Toni Segarra and the European triple medalist Chema Martínez. The congress is seen as the important Iberian American meeting on the latest trends in the fields of politics, publicity, communication and sport.
