We live in days where the labor environment is profoundly marked by different realities, profiles and environments. Technological advancements and the speed with how these changes are implemented in the corporate life of companies led the coexistence of four generations which have nothing to do with one another. This situation is a challenge for companies where talent and generational diversity management is the main objective to be achieved nowadays.
The Association for Managerial Advancement (APD) organized an interesting event called, Compete or coexist? Seniors vs. Millennials, generational diversity in the company. They debated on the management of different attitudes, values and training that different generations bring with them and how to turn them into a competitive advantage.
The event took place in Gijón and held the participation of the vice-president at ATREVIA in Madrid, Isabel Lara, who stated “Knowing how to combine the different needs and aspirations of Generation X, the Millennials and the recently included Generation Z is the main challenge that companies currently face. The differences that these generations have are not only a challenge in the sense of knowing how to manage talent but also in meeting the expectations to retain them”.
The event held the participation of relevant personalities of the sector such as Javier Cámara, CEO of BEBEE, Eduardo García Equiaga, director at the Atlantic Business School and Marta Díaz, Human Resources director at DUPONT.
